The Laphroaig Distillery was officially founded in 1815 in the south of the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay. During the Prohibition era, the distillery's whisky was sold as medicine, which explains the appearance and design of the whiskies. In 1994, the distillery was awarded the 'Royal Warrant' by King Charles III. He greatly appreciates Laphroaig's smoky single malt whisky and visits the distillery regularly. Laphroaig translates as "the beautiful hollow by the wide bay".

Laphroaig 10 Years Cask Strength Batch 16 matured the entire time in former bourbon barrels. Bottled with a strong 58.5% alcohol by volume, not chill-filtered.

Aroma: Medicinal peat smoke with maritime freshness, iodine, spicy oak and delicate sweetness.

Taste: Mix of sweetness and spice with herbal honey and candied ginger, maritime peat smoke.
