Originally established in 1972, Glengyle shares the same fate as nearly all Campbeltown distilleries. Hedley Wright, descendant of founder William Mitchell and owner of Springbank Distillery, purchased Glengyle's old buildings in November 2000 and began renovations. When it came to the equipment for making the single malt, he mainly used used equipment. Glengyle Distillery reopened in 2004 and on March 25th the first New Make was distilled.

Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 7 matured for an undefined time in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks . Bottled with a strong 59.1 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.

Aroma: Citrus and smoky, dry mineral notes, citrus fruits and zest, fresh.

Taste: Mixture of sweetness and acidity with citrus fruits, some vanilla, dry grain, rich smoke.
