After his father's death in 1819, John Walker and his mother sold the family farm near the Scottish town of Kilmarnock and used the proceeds to open a local general store. After a while, the range of the shop was expanded to include whisky. John experimentally applied blending methods used for tea at the time to whiskey. Today, Johnnie Walker is the best-selling Scotch whiskey in the world .

Johnnie Walker Gold Label matured in oak casks for an indefinite period. Bottled at a mild 40 vol. % alcohol.

Aroma: Spicy floral with almonds, delicate fruit notes, creamy sweetness and a hint of oak.

Taste: Sweetness and spice in the mix, pear peel and green apples, toffee and marzipan, delicately nutty.
