The Glenfiddich Distillery was built by William Grant between 1886 and 1887 and began production on Boxing Day 1887. In 1892 the founder took a break from managing Glenfiddich Distillery to establish the nearby Balvenie Distillery, also still owned by William Grant & Sons. In 1963, the distinctive three-sided Glenfiddich bottle was introduced. In the same year, the distillery also launched the first official single malt whiskey ever.
Glenfiddich Fire & Cane matured in ex-bourbon casks for an undefined period of time and then received a post-maturation in rum casks. Bottled at 43% vol. Alcohol.
Nose: Sugary sweetness, toasted grains, hints of green apples and hints of smoke.
Taste: Slightly smoky with caramel and powdered sugar, malt, unripe fruit and mild spices.
