The Glenfiddich distillery was built between 1886 and 1887 by William Grant and began production on Christmas Day 1887. In 1892, the founder took a break from managing the Glenfiddich Distillery to establish the nearby Balvenie Distillery, also still owned by William Grant & Sons. In 1963 the distinctive three-sided Glenfiddich bottle was introduced. In the same year, the distillery also brought the first official single malt whiskey onto the market.
Glenfiddich 26 Years Grande Couronne matured the entire time in a combination of former bourbon and sherry casks and was then matured in cognac casks. Bottled at 43.8% vol. Alcohol.
Aroma: Fruity with sultanas and some blood orange, aromatic spices, tobacco and a slightly dry note of oak
Taste: Milky coffee and toffee, roasted grains with a mix of spicy and sweet, delicate grape fruitiness, oak.
