The Glenfiddich Distillery was built by William Grant between 1886 and 1887 and began production on Boxing Day 1887. In 1892 the founder took a break from managing Glenfiddich Distillery to establish the nearby Balvenie Distillery, also still owned by William Grant & Sons. In 1963, the distinctive three-sided Glenfiddich bottle was introduced. In the same year, the distillery also launched the first official single malt whiskey ever.
Glenfiddich 12 Years Triple Oak matured the entire time in a combination of ex-bourbon, sherry and fresh French oak casks (Virgin Oak). Bottled at a mild 40% ABV. Alcohol.
Aroma: Sweet and spicy, grain with hints of unripe pear, fresh wood.
Taste: Slightly peppery, sweet with caramel, subliminal fruitiness, dry oak note.
