The Glenfarclas distillery was founded in 1836 by Robert Hay in Scotland's Speyside region and received its license to distill whisky in 1844. In 1865, the distillery was sold to John Grant, whose descendants later renovated it and still own it today. Glenfarclas is known for its single malt whiskies, which are matured entirely in ex-sherry casks. Few other Scottish distilleries offer such an extensive range of diverse bottlings.
Glenfarclas 12 Year Old matured entirely in former sherry casks. Bottled at 43% ABV, without added colouring.
Aroma: Roasted grain, aromatic spice notes with underlying sweetness and charred oak.
Taste: A mix of sweetness and spice, subtle fruit notes, malty with dry oak.
