The Glenfarclas distillery was founded in 1836 by Robert Hay in Scotland's Speyside region and received its license to distill whisky in 1844. In 1865, the distillery was sold to John Grant, whose descendants later renovated it and still own it today. Glenfarclas is known for its single malt whiskies, which are matured entirely in ex-sherry casks. Few other Scottish distilleries offer such an extensive range of diverse bottlings.
Glenfarclas 10 Year Old matured entirely in former sherry casks. Bottled at a mild 40% ABV, without added colouring.
Aroma: Sweet and fruity with a delicate spice note, floral hints and a touch of oak.
Taste: Apricot, pear, caramel and vanilla, delicately spicy with a slightly nutty oak note.
