Founded in 1839 directly on the banks of the Cromarty Firth, the Dalmore Distillery uses a large proportion of Spanish sherry casks for the maturation of its single malts, which have previously been filled with this for decades. In the characteristic bottle with the royal twelve-denter, the distillery is particularly popular in the Asian region. The oldest single malts from the distillery regularly fetch high sums at auction there.

Dalmore King Alexander III matured for an unspecified period of time in a combination of ex-Bourbon, Madeira, Marsala, Port, white wine and Oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at a mild 40% ABV. Alcohol.

Aroma: Chocolate and cocoa, fruity with jam and orange marmalade, some cinnamon, leather and polished wood.

Taste: Sweetness with dates and figs, raisins and preserved fruits, hints of tobacco, pepper and dark chocolate.
