In 2000, Compass Box founder John Glaser was working for a major British distiller. As an American living in London, he decided to pursue his own interests in the future and founded Compass Box. A company that takes up the craft of blending and depicts it in the form of characteristic and independent bottlings. The focus here is not on the names of the distilleries, but on the respective flavor profile of the whisky.

Compass Box The Peat Monster matured in ex-bourbon casks for an unspecified amount of time. Bottled at 46 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.

Nose: Peat smoke with hints of bacon, herbs, honey and malty edges.

Taste: Sweet herbal candies, malty with glazed ham and maritime smoky notes.
