Founded in 1779, Bowmore is the oldest whiskey distillery on the Scottish Isle of Islay. Known for its smoky whiskeys, Bowmore is, however, one of the milder representatives of the island, with a smoke content of around 35 ppm in the malt. In addition to its bottlings, the distillery is known for Vault No.1 - the only warehouse in Scotland that is below sea level.
Bowmore 22 Years Aston Martin Edition matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and ex-sherry butts. The single malt is then refined in former port wine barrels.
Bottled with a powerful 51.0 vol. % alcohol.
Aroma: Sweet, nutty, with notes of honey and maple syrup, and roasted hazelnuts.
Taste: Sherry, Islay peat, dark chocolate, black pepper as well as caramel sauce, vanilla and coffee beans.
