The Balvenie distillery was founded in 1892 right next to the Glenfiddich distillery and is still family-owned today. Connoisseurs appreciate the soft single malts from the distillery, which is one of the few in Scotland that still operates its own malting floors. Balvenie also produces smoky whiskey - which is rather untypical for the Scottish Speyside.
Balvenie 14 year old Caribbean Cask first matured in ex-bourbon casks before receiving a post-maturation in Caribbean rum casks. Bottled at 43 vol. % alcohol.
Aroma: Fruity and floral, molasses-like sweetness and caramel, toasted grain, burnt wood.
Taste: Malty with spice and sugary sweetness in the mix, pear skin and honeydew melon, some ginger.
