The Ardbeg distillery, located in the south of the Scottish island of Islay, can now - after a difficult past including closure - call itself one of the best addresses when it comes to smoky single malts. In addition to various whiskies that are permanently available, the distillery is known and popular for its limited bottlings that are available from time to time. This Ardbeg Single Malt Whisky is the second bottling in the limited Anthology series from Ardbeg.

Ardbeg 14 Years Anthology matured the entire time in a combination of Madeira casks and ex-bourbon casks.
Bottled with 46 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not cold filtered.

Nose: Rich, sweet, aromatic and fruity. Facets of banana bread and sponge cake combine with syrupy notes and aromas of smoldering cedarwood. A drop of water reveals tropical fruits, eucalyptus oil and spicy smoke.

Taste: Lime and sweet peaches with strong aromas of smoked fruit and baked bread give way to antiseptic lozenges, creosote tar and anise. Barley malt notes combine with nutmeg and peat smoke towards the end.
