The WhistlePig Distillery was founded in 2008 by Dave Pickerell in Vermont. A year earlier, the team around the owner had acquired a rye farm. Dave Pickerell passed away in 2018. Since then, the distillery has been run by Emily Harrison and Meghan Ireland.
Whistlepig 15 years matured the entire time in fresh American white oak barrels (Virgin Oak). Bottled at 46 vol. % alcohol, without coloring.
Aroma: Fully ripe citrus fruits with an aromatic mix of spices and sweetness, dry oak and walnuts.
Taste: Ripe oranges and blood oranges, creamy vanilla and caramel, cloves and some pepper, nutty oak.
