The builder Albrecht Ebensperger laid the foundation stone for his whiskey distillery, the Puni Distillery, in 2010. Named after the river Puni, which flows through the Upper Vinschgau, the distillery in the medieval town of Glurns in South Tyrol produces an Italian malt whiskey using Scottish equipment.
Puni Vina first matured in ex-bourbon casks for an undefined period of time and then received a post-maturation in Marsala casks. Bottled at 43% vol. Alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.
Aroma: Sweet and sour fruitiness with dry grain and spicy-chocolate oak.
Palate: Hints of raisins and grapes, accentuated by grain with a mix of sweet and spicy.
