Founded in 1956, King Car Group is an influential company in the Taiwanese food industry. After Taiwan joined the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2002 and the state liquor monopoly fell, TT Lee, owner and founder of the King Car Group, fulfilled a dream by building a whiskey distillery. Construction began in April 2006 and production of Kavalan Single Malt Whiskey began nine months later.

Kavalan Solist Port Cask matured in a single port wine barrel for an undefined period of time. Bottled with a powerful 57.8 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not cold filtered.

Aroma: Dark plums with hints of coffee beans, anise and nuts, ripe citrus fruits and chocolatey oak.

Taste: Sweet and sour with ripe oranges, green apples and plums, dry nutty notes with chocolate and spice.
