Founded in 1956, King Car Group is an influential company in Taiwan's food industry. After Taiwan joined the World Trade Organization WTO in 2002 and the state monopoly on spirits fell, TT Lee, owner and founder of the King Car Group, fulfilled a dream by building a whiskey distillery. Construction began in April 2006, and nine months later production of the Kavalan single malt whiskey.

Kavalan Podium matured for an indefinite period in a combination of fresh American White Oak casks (Virgin Oak) and Kavalan Refill casks. Bottled at 46 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.

Aroma: Creamy-sweet with aromatic spiciness, hints of fresh oak and tropical fruits.

Taste: Sweet with vanilla, spicy with some pepper, mango and star fruit, dry oak.
