The Tomatin distillery was founded in 1897 in the Scottish Highlands and was the largest whiskey distillery in Scotland with 23 stills in the 1970s. In 1985 the distillery was sold to Japanese companies, which lowered the production level of Tomatin. The distillery now has a variety of different single malts in its range - with and without peat smoke, from a wide variety of casks.
Tomatin Cask Strength matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks for an indefinite period. Bottled with a strong 57.5 vol. % alcohol.
Aroma: Citrusy and sweet with sugar and fresh ginger, barley malt and delicate spiciness.
Taste: Oranges and limes, dry grain with a delicate sweetness, some spice and delicate oak.
