The Tamdhu Distillery was founded in 1897 in Speyside, Scotland and is in the immediate vicinity of the Dailuaine, Knockando and Cardhu distilleries. Translated, Tamdhu means "little dark hill". The distillery's single malts, which they bottle themselves, mature exclusively in Spanish sherry casks. Since 2013, the distillery has belonged to the Ian Macleod company, which also owns Glengoyne and Rosebank.
Tamdhu 12 years matured the entire time in former sherry casks. Bottled at 43 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.
Aroma: Grainy with a slight dryness, sweet aromas, ripe fruit and some nutty oak.
Taste: Sweet with toffee and vanilla, apples and pears, cinnamon, toasted notes and dry oak notes.
