The Talisker distillery was built in 1831 on the Scottish Isle of Skye. The name is derived from the Talisker House property, located a few miles west in the mountains. After a fire in 1960 that almost completely destroyed the distillery, Talisker was rebuilt true to the original a few years later. Talisker Glacial Edge 45 Years matured the entire time in twelve heavily burnt ex-bourbon barrels and were stored in the ice of Canadian glaciers for 96 hours, causing the surface of the barrels to expand in the freezing temperatures. . Bottled with a powerful 59.8 vol. % alcohol. not chill-filtered and without dye. This 45 year old is the oldest Talisker original bottling & limited to 2,455 bottles worldwide.

Aroma: Rich, dry and mild with the pepper note typical of Talisker. There are also maritime hints of algae and iodine, salt crystals and the sweetness of dried fruits. Towards the end, creamy vanilla notes and smoky accents of sandalwood.

Taste: Initially velvety and soft with facets of cream candy, then more intense and with notes of salt, pepper and some chili. Towards the end, components of cream caramel candies with refreshing undertones.
