Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2014 0.7l, alc. 50% by volume

The Bruichladdich distillery was founded in 1881 by the Harvey brothers on the banks of Loch Indaal. Closed in 1994, a group of private investors breathed new life into the distillery in 2000. Today Bruichladdich produces single malt whiskey under its own name on the island of Islay without any peat smoke. Medium-strong smoky whiskey as Port Charlotte and the smokiest single malts in the world as Octomore.

Port Charlotte Islay Barley is made exclusively from Islay barley and matured from 2014 to 2021 in a combination of ex-bourbon, French red wine casks and fresh casks (Virgin Oak). Bottled at a strong 50 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.

Nose: Earthy peat smoke, slightly ashy with creamy sweetness, spice and chocolatey oak.

Taste: Fruity with red berries, sweet caramel, some clove and pepper, ashy smoke.
