The Bruichladdich distillery was founded in 1881 by the Harvey brothers on the shores of Loch Indaal. Closed in 1994, a group of private investors breathed new life into the distillery in 2000. Today, Bruichladdich produces single malt whisky entirely without peat smoke under its own brand on the island of Islay. Port Charlotte is a medium-smoky whisky, and Octomore is the smokiest single malt in the world.

Octomore 14.1 5 Year Old 2024 matured for five years in first-fill American whiskey casks. Bottled at a robust 59.1% ABV, it's color-free and non-chill-filtered.

Aroma: Caramel and vibrant citrus notes, delicately wrapped in Octomore's dry, earthy peat smoke. Spicy anise, vanilla, and soft custard follow, with tropical fruits, geranium, and a hint of ginger complementing the sweet malt.

Palate: The immediate heat on the palate is balanced by sweet, dry malt and earthy smoke. A refreshing medley of mango, banana, and apricot jam cuts through the heady peat, beautifully rounded off by vanilla custard and toffee. A splash of water opens up the smoke, revealing subtle marine notes and warm sand.
