Laphroaig Quarter Casks 0.7l, alc. 48 Vol.-%

The Laphroaig Distillery was officially founded in 1815 in the south of the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay. During Prohibition, the distillery's whisky was sold as medicine, which explains the appearance and presentation of the whiskies. In 1994, the distillery was awarded a Royal Warrant by King Charles III. He greatly appreciates Laphroaig's peaty single malt whisky and visits the distillery regularly. Laphroaig translates roughly as "the beautiful hollow by the broad bay."

Laphroaig Quarter Casks was initially matured in bourbon barrels for an unspecified period and then finished in quarter casks. Bottled at a robust 48% ABV, non-chill filtered.

Aroma: Peat smoke, a mix of spices and sweetness, fresh with notes of herbs, seaweed and a touch of oak.

Taste: Maritime notes with medicinal smokiness, herbal honey, spices and oak wood.
