After his father's death in 1819, John Walker and his mother sold the previous family farm near the Scottish town of Kilmarnock and used the proceeds to open a general store in town. After a while, the range of the shop was expanded to include whisky. John experimentally applied blending methods that were used for tea at the time to whiskey. Today Johnnie Walker is the best-selling Scotch whiskey in the world .

Johnnie Walker Ultimate 18 Years matured the entire time in oak barrels. Bottled at a mild 40 vol. % alcohol.

Aroma: Sweet and fruity with roasted grains, dry nuts, dried fruit and oak.

Taste: Ripe citrus fruits with mandarin and orange, toffee and vanilla, dry nutty, smoky oak notes.
