Highland Park is not only one of Scotland's northernmost distilleries, but also one of its oldest. The distillery's operators claim it was founded as early as 1798. Located in the small town of Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands, Highland Park produces a spicy, smoky single malt and is one of the few distilleries in Scotland to use its own malts. The bottlings bear nicknames reminiscent of the Vikings.

Highland Park 16 Years matured the entire time in former sherry casks. Bottled at a mild 44.5% ABV, without coloring.

Aroma: sweet and spicy, hints of ripe fruit, heather and some peat smoke.

Flavor: Figs, apricots, and nutmeg. Marzipan chocolate.
