Glenrothes 12 years 0.7l, alc. 40 Vol.-%

The Glenrothes distillery was built in 1878 on the former site of a sawmill and was the second distillery in the Scottish town of Rothes after Glen Grant. In May 1922 a fire destroyed over 2,500 filled whiskey casks. The burning contents spilled into the river in front of the distillery, which runs right through the town. Glenrothes is known for its single malts, which mature almost exclusively in Spanish sherry casks.

Glenrothes 12 Year Old matured in ex-sherry casks the entire time. Bottled at a mild 40% ABV. Alcohol, without dye.

Aroma: Ripe fruit notes with exotic hints, citrus and cinnamon, light spiciness.

Taste: Fruity and sweet with banana, malt sugar and toffee, mild spice note and delicate nutty oak.
