
A local farmer named George Connell founded the Glengoyne Distillery in the southern Highlands in 1833. However, under the name "Burnfoot of Dumgoyne". It was then renamed Glenguin Distillery in 1861. It was not until 1906, following its sale to the Lang brothers, that it was given the name "Glengoyne" that we know today. Most of the distillery's single malts are released with an age statement.
Glengoyne Balbaina matured for an undefined period in ex-bourbon casks and was then matured in sherry casks. Bottled with 43 % vol. Alcohol, without colorant.
Aroma: Floral and sweet with milk chocolate, nuts and cereals, dry oak.
Taste: Ripe pears and candied apples, mocha, malty and sweet with honey, oak and spice.
