The Glenfarclas distillery was founded in 1836 by Robert Hay in Speyside, Scotland, and was licensed to distil whisky in 1844. In 1865, the distillery was sold to John Grant, whose descendants later renovated the distillery and still own it today. Glenfarclas is known for its single malts, which are matured entirely in ex-sherry casks. Hardly any other Scottish distillery has such an extensive range of different bottlings.
Glenfarclas 25 years matured the entire time in former sherry casks. Bottled with 43 % vol. Alcohol, without colorant.
Aroma: Sweet honey with ripe fruit, grated hazelnuts and aromatic oak with spices and ginger.
Taste: Toasted cereals, caramel and wild honey, delicate sherry notes with slightly chocolaty oak and some orange.
