The Glenfarclas distillery was founded in 1836 by Robert Hay in Speyside, Scotland and was licensed to distill whiskey in 1844. In 1865 the distillery was sold to John Grant, whose descendants later renovated the distillery and still own it today. Glenfarclas is known for its single malts, which mature entirely in ex-sherry casks. Hardly any Scottish distillery has such an extensive range of different bottlings.
Glenfarclas 10 years matured the entire time in former sherry casks. Bottled at a mild 40% ABV. Alcohol, without dye.
Aroma: Sweet and fruity with a delicate note of spices, floral hints and some oak.
Taste: Apricot, pear, caramel and vanilla, delicately spicy with a slightly nutty oak note.
