The WhistlePig Distillery was founded in 2008 by Dave Pickerell in Vermont. A year earlier, the team around the owner had acquired a rye farm. Dave Pickerell passed away in 2018. Since then, the distillery has been run by Emily Harrison and Meghan Ireland.
Whistlepig 10 years first matured in fresh American white oak barrels (Virgin Oak) and then received a post-maturation in former bourbon barrels. Bottled at a strong 50 vol. % alcohol, without coloring.
Aroma: Ripe citrus fruits, creamy sweetness with hints of tobacco and anise, spicy oak.
Taste: Aromatic note of rye with mint, sweet caramel, somewhat floral with oak smoke.
