The Glenfiddich distillery was built between 1886 and 1887 by William Grant and began production on Christmas Day 1887. In 1892, the founder took a break from managing the Glenfiddich Distillery to build the nearby Balvenie distillery, which is also still owned by William Grant & Sons. In 1963, the distinctive three-sided Glenfiddich bottle was introduced. That same year, the distillery also launched the first ever official single malt whisky.
Glenfiddich Grand Château is a 31 year old single malt that matured in American and European oak barrels before being allowed to rest for 9 years in Bordeaux wine barrels.
Aroma: Warm vanilla with fruity, floral notes of ripe currants. Followed by accents of spicy nuts.
Taste: Rich with caramelized cherries and apples intertwining with warming spice and facets of toasted oak.
