
The Oban Distillery was founded in the town of the same name as early as 1794. The distillery is one of the few remaining that are located in the city itself and do not produce outside of it. Oban forms the border between the Scottish Highlands and the Islands, both geographically and in terms of the character of the single malt itself. Bottlings from the distillery are rather rare. Oban is known for its 14-year-old single malt. which is part of the Classic Malts range.
Oban matured for 14 years in oak barrels. Bottled at 43 vol. % alcohol.
Aroma: Maritime notes, ripe citrus fruits mixed with sweetness and spice, some smoke and oak.
Taste: Dry-spicy with some peat smoke, sugared grapefruit and aromatic oak notes.
