The name may seem a bit strange at first, but it is quite aptly chosen, since the liqueur consists of 43 different ingredients.
Inspired by the Licvor Mirabilis, a golden-aromatic liqueur that the ancient Romans considered the elixir of life, the Spanish Zamora family launched Licor 43 in 1946 in the top secret recipe that is still valid today.
It quickly became the best-selling liqueur in Spain and with the boom in tourism in the 1960s, Licor 43 began to conquer the world.
No wonder, the sweet liqueur with a taste of herbs, fruits and spices, predominantly vanilla, is simply great.
