Becherovka is a greenish-yellow herbal bitters brandy from the Czech Republic by Jan Becher.
The liqueur is still made to this day according to a top secret recipe from herbs, oils and alcohol.
It gets its golden color and characteristic taste from the long maturing process in old oak barrels. The schnapps contains 38% vol. Alcohol and is drunk either pure and ice-cold as an aperitif, digestif or as a mixed drink.
A mixture of the herbal liqueur as a long drink with tonic, cola, Kofola grape lemonade or lemon is highly recommended.
