Founded in 1899 by Shinjiro Torii as a beverage company, Suntory is Japan's largest whiskey producer. Distilleries such as Yamazaki and Hakushu are owned by the company and are enjoying growing popularity around the world with their single malts. In 2014 the Jim Beam company was acquired with all owned distilleries in the US, Ireland and Scotland including all other brands. Suntory is one of the five largest spirits companies in the world.

Suntory The Chita Distiller's Reserve matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, sherry and wine casks for an undefined period of time. Bottled at 43% vol. Alcohol.

Aroma: Sweet cereal notes with caramel, floral notes, some spice and fruit, mild oak.

Palate: Sweet with vanilla and toffee, shortbread, spicy notes with dry grain and citrus.
