The Chichibu Distillery was founded in 2004 in the town of the same name by Ichiro Akuto. Ichiro comes from a family with a long history of sake brewing. In 1945, Ichiro's grandfather decided to make whiskey. These mark the beginnings of the Hanyu Distillery. It closed due to bankruptcy in 2000. Ichiro salvaged the cask inventory and started his Chichibu Distillery in 2008.
Ichiro's Malt & Grain Limited Edition 2021 matured in oak casks for an undefined period. Bottled at 48% ABV. Alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.
Aroma: Malty sweetness with notes of ripe fruit, aromatic balance of sweetness and spice with some oak.
Taste: Peppery note of spices, creamy-sweet with toffee, apples and citrus, hints of raisins.
