The Kaikyo Distillery is based in the Japanese city of Akashi, which is located in Hyogo Prefecture. The company owes its name to the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. It is directly opposite the world's longest suspension bridge. The Akashi Sake Brewery, which has been producing spirits since 1917, acts as the parent company. One of their most famous products is the shochu. The traditional drink from Japan consists largely of wheat and rice. It ensnares the taste buds with an extraordinary, multi-faceted aroma.

The Kaikyo distillery is part of the Marussia Beverages Group. This sells wine, sake and other specialties in twelve countries. In Germany, Kaikyo made a name for itself with the Hatozaki whiskey .

Hatozaki Pure Malt Small Batch matured for an undefined period of time in a combination of former sherry casks, ex-bourbon casks and Japanese Mizunara oak barrels. Bottled at 46% vol. Alcohol, without coloring and not cold filtered.

Aroma: voluminous, sweet malt notes, with dried fruit, a hint of smoke and oak

Taste: dense, full-bodied texture with vanilla cream, dried fruits, honey, smoky notes, tropical fruits and spicy accents
