In 1966, the companies John Power & Son, John Jameson & Son and the Cork Distilleries Company (operated the Old Midleton Distillery) merged to form the Irish Distillers Group. It was subsequently decided to close the existing distilleries and consolidate all production in a new, very modern facility. This was built in Midleton. In 1975 production ended at the Old Jameson Distillery and began at the new one. The old distillery has now been converted into a visitor centre.
Jameson Stout Edition first matured in oak barrels for an undefined period of time and was then matured in stout beer barrels. Bottled at a mild 40% ABV. Alcohol.
Aroma: Tart grain with a slightly bitter touch, some sweetness, hazelnuts and cocoa.
Taste: Hints of sour fruit, tart grain with a slightly dark roast, marzipan.
