In 1966, John Power & Son, John Jameson & Son and the Cork Distilleries Company (operated the Old Midleton Distillery) merged to form the Irish Distillers Group. It was subsequently decided to close the existing distilleries and consolidate all production in a new, very modern facility. This was built in Midleton. In 1975 production ended in the Old Jameson Distillery and began in the new one. The old distillery has now been converted into a visitor center.
Jameson IPA matured the entire time in former bourbon and was then matured in Indian Pale Ale barrels. Bottled at 40% vol. Alcohol.
Aroma: oak, hops, fine floral notes
Taste: spicy, fresh beer and light oak notes
