
In 1966, John Power & Son, John Jameson & Son, and the Cork Distilleries Company (which operated the Old Midleton Distillery) merged to form the Irish Distillers Group. Subsequently, it was decided to close the existing distilleries and consolidate all production in a new, state-of-the-art facility. This was built in Midleton. Production at the Old Jameson Distillery ceased in 1975 and began at the new one. The old distillery has since been converted into a visitor center.
Midleton Very Rare 2024 matured for an unspecified period in ex-bourbon barrels. Bottled at a mild 40% ABV.
