The Tomatin distillery was founded in the Scottish Highlands in 1897 and in the 1970s was the largest whiskey distillery in Scotland with 23 stills. In 1985 the distillery was sold to Japanese companies, which lowered the production level of Tomatin. The distillery now has a variety of different single malts in its range - with and without peat smoke, from a wide variety of casks.
Tomatin Legacy matured for an undefined period of time in a combination of former bourbon barrels and fresh oak barrels (Virgin Oak). Bottled at 43 vol. % alcohol.
Aroma: Sweetness and spice in the mix, light fruitiness with dry oak and malt.
Flavor: Powdered sugar and toffee, slightly peppery with hints of apple and oak.
