The Glenfiddich distillery was built by William Grant between 1886 and 1887 and began production on Christmas Day 1887. In 1892, the founder took a break from managing the Glenfiddich Distillery to build the nearby Balvenie distillery, which is also still owned by William Grant & Sons. The distinctive, triangular Glenfiddich bottle was introduced in 1963. In the same year, the distillery also launched the first official single malt whisky ever.

Glenfiddich 15 Year Old is matured for the entire duration in a combination of ex-bourbon, sherry, and fresh American oak (virgin oak) casks. Bottled at a mild 40% ABV.

Nose: Sweet and spicy, cereal with hints of baked apple and raisin, dry oak and a touch of cinnamon.

Taste: Slightly peppery, sweet with caramel, fruity with ripe apple and pears, nutty oak notes.
