The Glenfiddich distillery was built by William Grant between 1886 and 1887 and began production on Christmas Day 1887. In 1892, the founder took a break from managing the Glenfiddich Distillery to build the nearby Balvenie distillery, which is also still owned by William Grant & Sons. In 1963, the distinctive triangular Glenfiddich bottle was introduced. That same year, the distillery also launched the very first official single malt whisky.

Glenfiddich 12 Year Old was matured for its entire duration in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks. Bottled at a mild 40% ABV.

Aroma: Sweet with barley malt, apple and pear, some honey and slightly dry oak.

Taste: Sweetness and spice mixed with caramel and vanilla, fruity, some oak.
