The Bruichladdich distillery was founded in 1881 by the Harvey brothers on the banks of Loch Indaal. Closed in 1994, a group of private investors breathed new life into the distillery in 2000. Today Bruichladdich produces single malt whiskey under its own name on the island of Islay without any peat smoke. Medium-strong smoky whiskey as Port Charlotte and the smokiest single malts in the world as Octomore. Gin is also produced on site.

The Botanist Islay Dry Gin is made with a variety of botanicals: 22 of them, all found on the island of Islay. Bottled at 46 vol. % alcohol.

  • BOTANICALS: Among others, juniper, apple mint, birch leaves, various flowers, heather, gorse, chamomile and other botanicals.
  • AROMA & TASTE: The gin starts with floral notes and distinctive spices, accompanied by heather and fruity hints. Fresh and maritime on the tongue with juniper berries, spices and floral aromas, supported by some citrus and subtle sweetness.
  • TONIC RECOMMENDATION: A Mediterranean tonic water complements the flavors of the gin perfectly. A classic Indian tonic also promotes the expressiveness of the botanist and makes it ideal as a component in a gin and tonic.
