After the founding of the Benromach distillery in 1898, the distillery really had dark times behind it. In the 1980s Benromach seemed on the brink of collapse before Elgin independent bottlers Gordon & Macphail took over the distillery. In 1998, Prince Charles reopened the Forres distillery. Benromach is one of the few distilleries in the Scottish Speyside that produces continuously with smoky barley malt. In addition to whiskey, gin is also produced there.
Red Door Small Batch Highland Gin got its name from the red gates that are built into the distillery. Bottled at 45 vol. % alcohol.
Botanicals: Juniper, bitter orange, sea buckthorn, heather pearls, rowan berries, coriander, angelica root.
Aroma & Taste: Citrus accentuated with clear orange and zest, mild herbal note, berry undertones and aromatic juniper.
