
The Tamdhu Distillery was founded in 1897 in Speyside, Scotland, and is located in the immediate vicinity of the Dailuaine, Knockando, and Cardhu distilleries. Tamdhu translates as "little dark hill." The distillery's self-bottled single malts are matured exclusively in Spanish sherry casks. Since 2013, the distillery has been owned by the Ian Macleod company, which also owns Glengoyne and Rosebank.
Tamdhu 18 years matured the entire time in former Oloroso sherry casks.
Bottled at 46.8% alcohol by volume, without coloring and not chill-filtered.
Aroma: Dry, nutty sherry notes, cherries, milk chocolate, rum raisins, citrus fruits, baked oats and prunes.
Taste: Rich sherry notes, vanilla, brown sugar, apples, dried fruits, apricots and dates.
