Maker's Mark is unusual in many ways. For example, by spelling the word whiskey without the "e", as is usual for Kentucky bourbon. On the other hand, rye is not used within the grain. Maker's Mark is sold in square bottles sealed with red wax. The founder's wife once gave the whiskey its name, drew the label and dreamed up the wax dipping of the bottles, which gives the bottle its distinctive look.

Maker's 46 first matured in fresh American white oak barrels (Virgin Oak) for an undefined period of time and then receives a post-maturation in barrels with toasted French oak sticks. Bottled at 47% ABV. Alcohol, without dye.

Aroma: Creamy sweetness with toasty aromas, cereals and spices, dry oak.

Taste: Sweet with toffee, spicy with pepper and cloves, dry and woody with toasted notes.
