Stauning Smoke Danish Single Malt Whiskey 0.7l, alc. 47% vol.

The Stauning Distillery was founded in 2005 in the town of the same name in Denmark. Production began in 2009 with an initial 60,000 pure alcohol per year. After Diageo acquired a stake in the distillery, the facility was expanded and output increased to 750,000 pure alcohol annually. Stauning malts the rye for production and sometimes uses peat and heather for drying.

Stauning Smoke matured for an undefined period in a combination of ex-bourbon, rum and Madeira casks, supplemented by fresh oak casks (Virgin Oak). Bottled at 47% vol. Alcohol, without coloring and not cold filtered.

Aroma: Floral and spicy with hints of citrus fruits, light campfire smoke.

Taste: Sweet with honey, spicy, tobacco and fresh herbs, heather and citrus.
