The Bruichladdich distillery was founded in 1881 by the Harvey brothers on the shores of Loch Indaal. Closed in 1994, a group of private investors breathed new life into the distillery in 2000. Today, Bruichladdich produces single malt whisky under its own name on the island of Islay without any peat smoke. The Port Charlotte is a medium smoky whisky and the Octomore is the world's smokiest single malt.

Port Charlotte Islay Barley wurde ausschließlich aus Gerste von der Insel Islay hergestellt und reifte von 2014 bis 2021 in einer Kombination aus ehemaligen Bourbon-, französischen Rotweinfässern und frichen Fässern (Virgin Oak). Abgefüllt mit kräftigen 50 vol. % Alkohol, ohne Farbstoff und nicht kältefiltriert.

Aroma: Erdiger Torfrauch, leicht aschig mit cremiger Süße, Gewürzen und schokoladiger Eiche.

Geschmack: Fruchtig mit roten Beeren, süßes Karamell, etwas Nelke und Pfeffer, aschiger Rauch.
