The Bruichladdich distillery was founded in 1881 by the Harvey brothers on the shores of Loch Indaal. Closed in 1994, a group of private investors breathed new life into the distillery in 2000. Today, Bruichladdich produces single malt whisky under its own name on the island of Islay without any peat smoke. The Port Charlotte is a medium smoky whisky and the Octomore is the world's smokiest single malt.

Port Charlotte 10 years matured in a combination of former Bourbon and French wine barrels. Bottled with a strong 50 vol. % alcohol, without colorant and not chill-filtered.

Aroma: Intense peat smoke, sweet undertones, ginger and aromatic herbs and spices.

Taste: Vanilla and lemon, peat smoke with a slightly maritime edge, some ash and butter.
